About
Originally from Essex, Dan Watt (D.L.W) relocated to Margate a year ago, drawn by a desire to be closer to the sea and to ground themselves in a new sense of home. This transition became the catalyst for a daily practice: 365 drawings made over the course of a year. Each drawing depicts an item found on the beach and then returned to the sea, engaging in a quiet cycle of attention, care, and release.
Created for NUISEANCE - a title that folds together nuisance, séance, and sea. The work reflects a persistent dialogue with place, ritual, and repetition. Through daily acts of drawing and returning, the artist traces an ongoing process of settling, attuning to Margate’s shoreline, and finding stability through making.
